Again, what a wonderful week for homework. Well done!
Literacy
This week we have adapted and rewritten one of Julia Donaldson's books, Sharing a Shell. Our class book is called 'Sharing a Cave' and is set on a mountain! Once we have finished the books, you'll be able to see them on our blog.
Follow the same path as we did in class and adapt one of your favourite stories. Keep the flow of the story the same but replace the characters, settings and events with your own creations! Maybe your story will be called Siddler, Sharon Took's Favourite Book or The Fuffalo. Next week you will have an opportunity to share your story with the rest of the class - think about your audience and how you might make the story lively and interesting.
Numeracy
After some excellent thinking about charts, graphs and measures, we are moving onto time! Start by checking you can still read o'clock and half-past. When you feel confident with this move onto quarter to and quarter past. Then challenge yourself to be able to read the time in 5 minute intervals.
Be as creative as you like...write a diary with exact times, make a clock, create some time problems (your learning partner could work them out), perhaps you'll choose to link Numeracy and Literacy this week and write a similar story to Simon Bartram's Man on the Moon... However you decide to learn, I'm looking forward to seeing it!
Here's some online activities linked to time...
