This week we are starting to learn about split diagraphs. Today we concentrated on a_e. The evil 'e' doesn't make a sound and changes the vowel sound into the letter name. For example, 'bake' is pronounced 'baik' rather than 'bakee.' Some examples can be found on Mayil's whiteboard above...can you think of anymore?
a_e (make)
e_e (even)
i_e (bike)
o_e (bone)
u_e (cube)
Cake, lake, date
