Solve that Problem!

The Challenge...
We had 6 squares and we had to arrange them into as many different positions as possible.
The Rules!
1. You are only allowed to use a position one time.

Little Cook!
2B are extremely lucky because tomorrow...*drum roll*...we will be making Chocolate Cornflake Cakes. The mission was to write a clear set of instructions in order to make the cake, 2B did so well that they are allowed to follow their own instructions with the help of an adult. Here are our instructions:
1. First set out the ingredients and equipment.
2. Next put the butter into the bowl.
3. Then break the chocolate into small pieces.
4. Next put the pieces into the bowl with the butter.
5. Then place the bowl into the microwave for 30 seconds.
6. Next mix the chocolate and butter together with a wooden spoon.
7. After pour the mixture into the bowl of cornflakes.

Sound Task
Today we learnt all about the 'ea' sound. It makes the same sound as 'ee' but is spelt differently. Some examples of words which use the 'ea' sound are: bead, heap, least, cream, stream...
Tomorrow we will be thinking about another spelling 'ey'.
Can you think of any words which use the 'ey' spelling. Here's a clue, it can usually be found at the end of a word...look at the picture! The child who thinks of the most words that contain the sound 'ey' will win a 'Thinker' competency slip tomorrow.

Internet Safety
We are learning about how to be safe when using the Internet. We have talked about not giving personal information out when we are online. We shouldn’t give out our full names or addresses. However, we can give out our first name or a nickname. We know not to talk to strangers online, just like in real life! If 2B ever see anything that they don’t like or are not sure of, they know to tell an adult straight away!

Core Competencies
In 2B we are learning about core competencies.
At the end of everyday we have time to reflect and ask ourselves...

'Which of the competencies have I achieved today?'
If you think you have successfully been a communicator, contributor, thinker, e-learner, creator or self-manager in the evening or at the weekend, make sure you tell Miss Widdison all about it!
